Target Audience: Teachers
An introduction to SMART boards, SMART software, wireless slates, document cameras, and projectors and how they can be used to enhance instruction and improve student learning. Participants will get hands on experience with these classroom tools as well as ample time to create usable materials to take with them to their classrooms. Having a SMART board is not a requirement for this class.

Day 1 June 23, 9:00-12:00

  • Opening discussion and introductions
  • Overview of projectors
  • Easy ways to incorporate projectors into any classroom
  • Overview of document cameras
  • Tips and tricks
  • Creavtive uses of document cameras in the classroom

Day 2 June 24, 9:00-12:00

  • Overview of SMART Boards
  • Exploration of its features
  • Start looking at the basic features of the SMART Notebook Software
  • Futher exploration of the SMART Notebook Software
  • Time to experiment with the SMART board and Notebook Software

Day 3 June 25, 9:00-12:00

  • An introduction to wireless slates, a cost effective alternative to SMART Boards
  • Time to create materials with the SMART Notebook Software
  • Continue working with SMART Notebook Software
  • Time to share
